About this artwork
Like the Flower, it presents a female figure gently emerging from within a flower, in a composition that suggests birth, delicacy, and transformation. The work does not seek literal interpretation, but rather an atmosphere where the body and nature converse in balance.
The integration of the figure with the floral element conveys a sense of calm and contemplation. The posture, the treatment of light, and the subtlety of the gesture reinforce an… intimate interpretation, where femininity is expressed through serenity and harmony.
It is a work that invites you to stop, to observe and to connect with the essential, evoking fragility as a form of silent strength.

Alfonso Endara is an Ecuadorian painter and sculptor with over 45 years of artistic experience. His work, primarily oil on canvas, has become firmly established within figurative realism, distinguished by a rigorous technique based on classical methods such as chiaroscuro and antique glazes. In many of his paintings, he applies up to forty successive layers of paint, achieving exceptional depth in light, shadow, and chromatic nuances.
Throughout his career, he has painted portraits of presidents, public figures, and members of the Spanish royal family, and has participated in over one hundred national and international exhibitions, earning him considerable recognition both within and beyond Latin America. Beyond technical virtuosity, his work focuses on the human figure as an emotional and symbolic territory: bodies, faces, and gestures that reveal inner experiences, tensions, silences, and contradictions.
