About this artwork
Marble powder and Indian ink painting on Xuan paper, botanical inlay enhanced with bronze.
This original work is part of the Herboratum series. The actual botanical elements are included in the work in the manner of herbariums. But here, the plants are not only arranged for conservation purposes. They take on a new life, and become an integral part of the composition. They are melted into the painting and become one with the artistic gesture.

Alfredo Yache, painter and photographer, has been navigating between these two mediums for over thirty-five years. His works begin with a photographic gesture that he systematically alters in favor of the brush, making his fragmented gaze holistic and charging the pictorial material with humanity. He reveals the almost cosmic sensuality of botany, where even the smallest shadow or reflection of light can become central.
