About this artwork
"August" is part of the 12 Months Series and was captured during a late summer stroll through the forests around Schladming—in search of mushrooms, sunbeams, and quiet moments. The warm light filters through the canopy, transforming the forest floor into a vibrant interplay of shadows and gold.
“August” tells of the abundance of nature and how nourishing it is to lose yourself in the moment – with all your senses, without any rush.
This picture… is for you if you long for peace, for the scent of moss and the feeling of being completely at peace with yourself.

Alexandra Isabel Hörhager, a trained interior designer, has preferred intensive work with oil paints since 2018 and perfected her style at the Milan Art Institute. Using mixed media and classical oil painting, she creates works of art that oscillate between figuration and abstraction, between naturalness and symbolism. Her works, characterized by attention to detail and layered work, focus on creating emotional depth and a tangible atmosphere. Hörhager uses her art to explore the emotions of the inner landscape and to guide us back to ourselves, to nature, and to simple things.
