About this artwork
In "Carousel of Wings," I explore the surreal moment when movement, color, and memory converge. The parrots are not free in the sky, but rather part of a carousel—trapped between life and stillness. This setting allows me to highlight the contrast between expressive energy and the silent repetition of a cycle.
Bold trowel textures and layered brushstrokes emphasize the tension between dynamism and limitation. The twisted carousel poles draw the… parrots into an endless, circular dance – a loop of joy, energy, and nostalgia.
For me, they symbolize how we repeatedly return to formative moments. With this painting, I invite you to experience the interplay of freedom and repetition, vitality and memory.

Ali Sedri is a contemporary painter of Iranian descent. He was trained for several years by Master Mahmoud Farshchian, one of the most important figures in Persian painting – a period that profoundly shaped his understanding of symbolism, movement, and the emotional power of color.
Sedri studied art in Isfahan and at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze. His works combine expressive color energy with inner peace and emotional depth. Whether mythological unicorns, carousel animals, or serene human scenes, Sedri explores the balance between dream and reality, freedom and repetition in his painting.
His works have been shown in galleries in Iran and Germany, including the Zaviyeh Art Gallery (Tehran) and the Kowsar Art Gallery (Isfahan).
