Light Architecture
Barnacles, refuges of the sea
On the bare rock, beaten by the waves, a miniature city takes shape.
Barnacles, small crustaceans with white shells, cling together in tight clusters, forming shelters, caves, and tiny houses.
Each barnacle is a dwelling, an architecture of light, sculpted by the sea and time.
At low tide, the light caresses their rounded shapes, revealing a mosaic of natural refuges.
At high tide, they close… up, protected in their shell, patiently waiting for the sun to return.
These little sea people evoke resilience, solidarity, and the beauty of the natural habitat.
In the work, barnacles become symbols of protection, peace and harmony, inscribed in the earth like a haven of light.
Light Architecture:
a tribute to the world's refuges,
to the fragility and strength of life,
to the beauty of natural shelters,
to the light that transforms each shell into a home.
« Harvesting nature: admiring what we reject, immortalizing what will disappear, and extracting the beauty. »
