"Les Bleus de la Mer" is a unique work, composed like a living mosaic, where each shell fragment, each shade of blue and each fossil come together to evoke the richness and fragility of the seabed. It is not a painting, but a meticulous collage, inspired by scuba diving, which creates a refuge, an organic cocoon.
The collage technique is reminiscent of ancient mosaics, but it is intended to be vibrant and dynamic: the chosen materials, their textures… and shapes, interact to create an organic, almost cultural architecture. The deep, subtle blues tell the story of the ocean, while the presence of oyster fossils bears witness to the passing of time.
This work is also a call to conscience: it evokes the threatened beauty of the sea, pollution, and the gradual disappearance of its wonders. Through this collage, the artist invites contemplation, reflection, and the protection of the underwater world.
« Harvesting nature: admiring what we reject, immortalizing what will disappear, and extracting the beauty. »
