« My artwork stems from an emotional response to a place: London (where I was born) always fascinates, and cities generally. A link to the feeling of being an observer, and maybe something of an outsider. »
As an oil painter, Alison Chambers’ work is figurative but not literal, as she aims to capture the essence of what interests her rather than describing it literally. The English artist is drawn towards structure and form, which includes the human body. Chambers’ most recent works feature London cityscapes, a subject which continues to fascinate her.
