About this artwork
"Siren's Swell" was made as part of a series created in response to my memories of living by the coast. I love to walk along the seafront in all weathers and am inspired by the grey or blue of the sea, the foam, the shingle beach, flotsam and jetsam washed up on the beach. Scraps of fishing nets and lobster pots are left, alongside incongruous bits of waste plastic mixed with seaweed and weathered wood. The series is entirely abstract but expresses…
