A monumental canvas and the second key work in the Long Dark Night series, "Dawn" continues its visual mythmaking — marking a subtle shift: from internal darkness toward awakening.
The scene captures a moment of near-surrender — when inner resistance dissolves, and one enters quiet acceptance. In that stillness, faint echoes of prayer remain, and with them, the arrival of something like grace.
A golden-winged figure descends at sunrise, answering… a wordless plea. The tired, but praying body, the watchful beings, and the dreamlike, ever-present landscape bear witness to a transformation: not dramatic, but tender. Here, light doesn’t pierce — it touches.

Aliya Davletova is a multidisciplinary artist, trained at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, working primarily in painting and sculpture but also spanning digital, textile, and performance art. She employs analog materials and hand-made techniques, weaving fabric, paint, and sculptural elements into soft yet intense objects that foreground texture, body, and form. Her evocative visual language explores internal narratives and symbolic transformation, revealing invisible experiences. Davletova’s work radiates emotional depth—inviting viewers to reflect on grief, longing, tenderness, and the rich ambiguities of selfhood.
She has exhibited at Belvedere 21, Parallel Vienna, Best Austrian Animation Festival, Vienna Design Week, etc. and her work has been featured in independent and experimental art spaces across Europe.
