About this artwork
Back in the 1990's I was painting larger ergonomics figures and wanted a way to work more quickly. In 1988, I developed a method of painting on paper that involved soaking 100% cotton rag paper in shellac to protect the paper fibres form the oil paint. This military series was one of the early result of that process.
