About this artwork
Sometimes you just have to let things go. Release it. Let go of perfectionism. Drop it. Accept things/people/situations as they are. One of the key pillars to happiness or contentment is Acceptance. The idea of simply accepting life as it comes, knowing that your desire to control and change the outcome is what causes you to suffer.
‘As It May Be’ was actually a happy accident. Back when I was working out of my small living room, I had paintings… everywhere while I was trying to curate my first show! One of original watercolours from my Aura series was auspiciously resting under a smaller sketch, where I was exploring line work. When I glanced over a second time at the two pieces together, I realized I wanted to play with ‘style-mixing’ and I ended up creating one larger painting based on the two together.

Allison Rietta, a painter and visual artist with a robust background in design and fine art, deftly employs watercolour, acrylic, collage, pencil crayon, and ink. Her geometric abstract style oscillates between soft, fluid watercolours and precise, hard-edged forms, often guided by an intuitive, colour-driven process that begins with circles or rings. Rietta's artworks exude a meditative energy, inviting viewers into a vibrant conversation about vibration, nature, and the tension between harmony and dissonance.
