About this artwork
Eden is created on paper, using primarily watercolour with acrylic and hand-cut paper collage. I named the painting Eden because it is part of my Serpent Series. Across cultures, the serpent has been revered and feared as a symbol of duality, transformation, and the eternal cycle. In Hindu and Buddhist traditions, serpents appear as nāgas—guardians of treasures and waters.

Allison Rietta, a painter and visual artist with a robust background in design and fine art, deftly employs watercolour, acrylic, collage, pencil crayon, and ink. Her geometric abstract style oscillates between soft, fluid watercolours and precise, hard-edged forms, often guided by an intuitive, colour-driven process that begins with circles or rings. Rietta's artworks exude a meditative energy, inviting viewers into a vibrant conversation about vibration, nature, and the tension between harmony and dissonance.
