About this artwork
‘Oculus’ is the Latin word, meaning eye. It is also an eye-like opening such as a window or the apex of a dome. During meditation, you are sometimes guided to the third eye (the space between your eyebrows) as a focal point to help concentration. This space can often act as a blank screen, which can be where your sub-conscious starts “playing movies” in vibrant colours and shapes. It is in this state, where these shapes and colours become the inspiration…
and starting points to a lot of my paintings. If you allow yourself to just let go, and trust the process, the outcome can be very otherworldly and creative.
