About this artwork
The work invites the viewer to reflect on the relationship between interiority, choice, and awareness, presenting destiny not as a fatality but as a personal construct. The title "Two Destinies" evokes the tension between what is endured and what can be chosen through responsibility and inner freedom. Being the architect of one's own life means accepting uncertainty and making authentic choices, recognizing that destiny is shaped over time through… decisions, experiences, and new awareness. The work therefore suggests an active vision of existence: destiny arises from the ongoing dialogue between who we are and what we choose to become, inviting us to look beyond appearances to rediscover the direction of our own path within ourselves.
THE CREATIVE PROCESS FREES THE HUMAN BEING FROM HIS FRAILITIES, HE SAVES HIM, RECONNECTS HIM AND SETS YOU FREE
Amalia Cavallaro is an Italian painter with a solid academic background in scenography from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. She uses an original technique she calls PsicoStrappage, combining elements of drawing, collage, and material gestures to convey the depth and complexity of the human psyche. Through fragmentation and recomposition, her works translate fears, memories, and desires into images. The emotions she conveys through an intense dialogue between harmony and disorder are those of liberation, rebirth, and a profound reconnection with oneself, offering a visual journey that invites the viewer to explore their own inner world.
