About this artwork
This piece is one of my 'Swimmer Series' of paintings and is an investigation into the interaction and connection between light, water and form. Amanda’s work is focused on the quest for finding refuge, quietness and escapism. Some [paintings] focus on the lone swimmer, the few minutes of introspection when submerged in the warm quiet of water, and others investigate the interaction of people within various aspects of the landscape. I haven't settled…
on any particular style, and constantly struggle with the juxtaposition between hyper-realism and having a painterly quality to my art and this conflict in my paintings is what I am always trying to balance. This piece is painted in professional quality oil paints on a museum quality canvas and finished with edges painted and gloss varnish for protection. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and is ready to hang.

Amanda Cameron is an award-winning artist based in Australia whose paintings have been featured in solo and group exhibitions nationally. With a fascination for the interconnection and interrelationship between light, water, and form, the majority of her pieces depict a lone swimmer or beach scenes. For Cameron, both themes are like a snapshot in time. She most often creates with oils, but occasionally employs acrylics, resin, ink, and graphite on canvas or linen.
