This painting is an opportunity to explore my love of nature while exploring new mediums and mark-making techniques. This series is a series of Australian native birds, as well as birds from other parts of the world selected for their colours and beauty. This piece uses a range of mediums including acrylic, metallic bronze pigment, oil and gouache. This piece follows on from my love of pop artists such as Warhol and… Lichtenstein. This piece is painted in professional quality oil, acrylic and pigment paints on a museum quality canvas, and finished with edges painted and a gloss varnish for protection. It comes ready to hang with a Certificate of Authenticity.
