About this artwork
This piece was inspired by the swallows that migrate south for the winters. Whenever I see them returning it is a symbol that Spring is on the way! I grew up in South Africa and we had a pair of swallows that would return from the Northern hemisphere every year, so I have been observing swallows all my life. When I moved to Europe I saw them returning and I knew that they had experienced great warmth and an abundance of sunshine and they are bringing… with them a message that sunnier days are on the way! The bird’s grace and the blooming flowers symbolize hope and new beginnings, painted with energy and passion to brighten any space. This artwork breathes joyful movement and invites you to feel nature’s promise of spring’s arrival every day.
Amanda Rheeders, a painter with roots in law and a foundation at the Milan Art Institute, crafts evocative works using drawing, mixed media, and oil painting. Her technique blends abstract realism, expressive charcoal sketches, lush ink drips, high-gloss acrylic blending, and luminous oil glazes, enhanced by palette knife textures for a touch of impressionism. She conjures awe through transformative landscapes, magical birds, and florals, aiming to envelop the viewer in nature's wonder, radiance, and quiet joy—a celebration of beauty that reverberates with happiness and reverence for the natural world.
