In this gestural and instinctive work, a silhouette emerges from the silence of the canvas. Neither entirely man nor entirely woman, this presence seems suspended in that fragile moment where being takes shape before it is even defined.
The bursts of red traverse the composition like an original pulse, a symbol of vital energy, while the black and grey masses construct a body in perpetual transformation.
The work explores this universal territory… where identity is not yet fixed: the moment of beginning, of inner birth, when everything remains possible. Matter springs forth, flows, confronts the void, and becomes an emotional language.
“Before the Name” is a reflection on origin, metamorphosis, and the indefinable part that inhabits every human being.
