About this artwork
The title Ambivalent expresses the dichotomy between the two dominant areas of this painting. Although very similar in nature, they nonetheless express something completely different. The lower part with its warm appearance contrasts with the cool, almost foggy upper area. The dark elements that flank this basically calm harmony bring tension. I manage to create an arc of tension from calm serenity to almost dramatic disturbance of this situation.…
