About this artwork
I’m going through yet another cycle where I’d like to retreat into my own little space and detach my mind and not talk to or interact with people. I’d like to call it only child syndrome, but really it’s so much more than than that. There is just so much noise.

“Oh, it's a mystery to me
We have a greed, with which we have agreed
And you think you have to want more than you need
Until you have it all you won't be free
Society, you're a crazy breed…
I hope you're not lonely without me
When you want more than you have
You think you need
And when you think more than you want
Your thoughts begin to bleed
I think I need to find a bigger place
'Cause when you have more than you think
You need more space
Society, you're a crazy breed
I hope you're not lonely without me
Society, crazy indeed

« Art can be there just to make us feel safe and happy, and sometimes you just need to paint. Stop thinking and start feeling, and then start thinking again. »
Amy Stone is a experienced painter from the United States whose works have been exhibited in solo and group shows nationally. Stone started painting alongside her grandfather when she was a kid and developed a love for art, eventually defining her current style in abstract expressionism. Working in mixed media, she varies artistic techniques, from the palette knife to the pencil, to create canvases that embody an organized chaos.
