About this artwork
I created this sculpture in 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, to reflect the essence of who we are as human beings: solidarity. A universal hug that looks like a fossil and represents the universal emotion we feel when connecting with another. Pain, hope, reunion, joy and humanity itself are expressed by hugging each other, sharing feelings without words. Seven bronze originals to connect seven places in the world, there are already two in public…
spaces (Alcalá de Henares and Mejorada del Campo) that offer this solidarity to those who come to this very special sculpture.
The base of this sculpture can be made of solid wood if it is to be placed indoors or of steel if it is to be placed outdoors. The measurements of the base are 90 cm high, with a body of 45 x 45 cm and a base of 60 x 60 cm to ensure its stability.
