About this artwork
This painting marks the beginning of an investigation into what remains after experience.
The figure does not appear as an affirmation of identity, but as its consequence. Something has been understood, something has fallen away, and what remains is presence without emphasis.
The face holds an unstable balance between construction and disappearance. The pictorial matter does not aim to describe, but to register the time that moves through the image.… The descending vertical traces do not dramatize; they record.
Here, painting begins a shift. It withdraws from virtuosity, narrative, and visual seduction, moving toward a quieter form of endurance.
We are not witnessing a transformation.
We are witnessing what remains after.
As the first work within the 24M project, the piece establishes the essential framework of the series: identity is no longer declared — it is held.
« "Art helps me balance the inner chaos, the thousands of sensations that I am dealing with on a daily basis." »
