This piece is part of a series where I explore the interplay between geometric shapes and water droplets. The geometric forms, seemingly rigid, embody structure, determination, and the ability to set healthy boundaries, all inspired by my personal journey toward growth.
The soft, subtle drops of water juxtapose the geometric shapes; however, they harmoniously coexist, symbolizing the consistent effort we invest over time. Just as a steady drop can… carve pathways in rock and create new streams, our diligence in pursuing our goals can lead to significant transformations and possibilities. This metaphor of water and geometric shapes reflects a profound connection: like water, determination can propel us forward through consistency. Together, they represent different sides of the same coin, helping to shape ourselves, our environment, and create new opportunities.
The piece is challenging to measure, so the measurements are an approximation.
Andrea Cerisola, a painter with formal training in Mexico City and ongoing mentorships, creates vivid, mixed-media works using acrylic on canvas and resin-coated MDF geometric shapes. Her style fluidly merges realism with abstraction, mixing detailed figurative elements and mesmerizing geometric designs with a vibrant, resonant palette. With careful layering and attention to visual appeal at a distance, she incorporates imperfection to mirror life's examined moments. Through her art, she evokes reflection on impermanence, interconnectedness, and the liberating discipline of self-awareness, gifting viewers an uplifting sense of peace and mindful energy.
