About this artwork
The Wings of Pegasus is an abstract painting, part of the "Space Collection". In Greek mythology, Pegasus is a winged horse, born from the death of Medusa at the hands of Perseus, who, with the help of the winged horse, defeats the monster and frees Andromeda. After this and other feats, Pegasus takes flight towards the highest part of the sky and transforms into a cloud of sparkling stars that have formed a constellation, still called Pegasus.
Andrea Colusso is a multifaceted artist who blends painting, sculpture, drawing, and digital art into an evolving visual language. At the heart of his research is the relationship between humanity and the universe: a dialogue between interiority and cosmic consciousness that generates evocative and visionary images. His works, often immersed in dark backgrounds reminiscent of interstellar space, give shape to imaginary worlds through color, gesture, and texture. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, he combines the power of painting with theatrical evocation. His imagery is rooted in the turmoil of the 1970s and 1980s, encompassing utopia, social criticism, and spiritual exploration. His influences range from Picasso to Kandinsky, from science fiction comics to philosophy. His works are featured in public collections and museums, including the Pinacoteca di Cerreto Laziale and the Florean Museum in Baia Mare, Romania.
