About this artwork
I'm passionate about astrology and ancient history. The works in this collection all share the same theme: the connection between humanity and the universe. Sirius is a main-sequence star of spectral type A1 Vm and has a mass approximately 2.1 times that of the Sun, with an absolute luminosity of 25 times that of the Sun.
Sirius was described in literature as “burning or flaming”; the name itself derives from the Greek adjective “seirios,” meaning… “shining.”
The Greeks identified Sirius with Isis, Orion with Horus, and with Osiris; since a saga narrated that Isis was aided by dogs in her search for Osiris, the Greeks more commonly saw Sirius as Isis's dog. The appearance of Sirius was believed to signal the beginning of the ripening of the grapes.

Andrea Colusso is a multifaceted artist who blends painting, sculpture, drawing, and digital art into an evolving visual language. At the heart of his research is the relationship between humanity and the universe: a dialogue between interiority and cosmic consciousness that generates evocative and visionary images. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, he combines the power of painting with theatrical evocation. His influences range from Picasso to Kandinsky, from science fiction comics to philosophy. His works are featured in public collections and museums, including the Pinacoteca di Cerreto Laziale and the Florean Museum in Baia Mare, Romania.
