About this artwork
Andreas Dullnig dealt with the spectrum of collage in this work. In addition to elaborately made scraps of pure paint, the painter sticks fragments of paper onto the canvas. Then Dullnig reworks certain areas with the brush. This creates fractures that give the image dynamism and the expression an increased effect.

« I am briefly satisfied when I manage to detach the image from my original intention and surprise myself. »
Andreas Dullnig is an Austrian artist whose works have been featured in numerous solo exhibitions nationally. His compositions center around the portrayal of people, either through portraits or groups of people who are engaged in a certain action. In order to detach the image from its realistic idea, Dullnig begins a piece in such a fashion. One the picture is indeed realistic, the process of abstraction begins through the interaction of technology and chance.
