Andreas Garbe represents contemporary painting of exceptional breadth. His internationally exhibited works are found in private collections worldwide and enjoy great demand – a growing success also documented by price developments: within the past ten years, the prices of his works have tripled.

Garbe moves with ease between figuration and abstraction: landscape, the human figure, literature, and social observation converge with a second, radically free side to his work. He signs particularly intuitive and abstract pieces as Julio Fernandez – an independent artistic identity under which color, movement, and spontaneous impulse determine the creative process.

Using acrylic, oil and resin on canvas, Garbe develops a distinctive oeuvre that lies between Big History, philosophy and society on the one hand and absolute painterly freedom on the other.
