The artistic examination of the book as an art form is the subject of this work.
It is easy for us to forget when reading or looking at a book that the feelings and thoughts expressed by words, phrases or pictures are the result of a constant search for the right word and sentence, or the right picture. The words, phrases and images that are discarded are the necessary foundation for the later book. The artist takes up this idea and dedicates his… work to the crossed out, excluded and discarded.
The first copy of the >artist's book< object was conceived as a scroll. The paper roll has a length of 1200 cm and a height of 30 cm. Since both sides, i.e. the front and back, were the subject of the artistic discussion, the artist book has a total length of 2400 cm.
The artist's book is published in an edition of five individual copies.
« Repetition is standing still. The essence of art lies in permanent change and further development. »
