About this artwork
Signs of Life is the title of a series of color woodcuts. Unique pieces in 40x40cm format, printed in 2025 at the Bethanien printing workshop in Berlin. Signs of life, enigmatic forms, temptations of color. Works that undergo several metamorphoses in their very slow, months-long creation process. An attempt to find metaphors for the beauty and fragility of life.

Andreas Kramer is an experienced painter and printmaker based in Germany whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Australia, England, Italy, Brazil, and Switzerland.
Fascinated by the permanent and mysterious nature of our existence, his pieces search for the essential and "signs of life". Kramer describes his compositions as being abstract, figurative, and atmostpheric, a consequence of the meeting of intuition and thoughts.
