At a young age, of course, I was tormented by a nonsensical vanity that I still painfully remember. Because nothing and never wanted anything off the rack. I always tended to be way too tall and too chubby for my age and my feet more than fully grown at an early age. So in my youth there were certainly no hip shoes for me beyond the normal sizes. When I finally got hold of an object of desire, suede boots in shoe size 47-48, I wore them, day after… day, to the bitter end. I really loved this pair of shoes at the time, but never looked after them because it just didn't cross my mind. So I think I almost drove the once local shoemaker crazy to have to save my youthful vanity over and over again. But in the end he gave up.
« Even in my early youth, I wanted to be a great artist. I don't know why. »
