About this artwork
In my work with acrylic paints I explore minimalism and abstraction. This composition of magenta, yellow and black leads to a deep, almost cosmic contemplation. The subtle differences between panels reflect complexity in simplicity. Each piece takes up space while adding energy to it. Through the interplay of colors and structures, I invite the viewer to think about the duality of light and shadow, presence and absence.
« Only when I know who I was, can I recognize who I am and maybe who I should be, if I wanted to. »
Longing for a beautiful world made Andreas Stiller become an artist. The German painter and sculptor has exhibited nationally, as well as in Austria and the Netherlands. Stiller’s themes and mediums vary within his abstract or photorealistic works. His recent ‘Slide’ series delves into realistic representations of his family’s slide collection. He paints using acrylics, and sculptures are made of wood, marble, or stone.
