About this artwork
This artwork reflects on Time — a mystery still without a definitive explanation. The artist seeks to capture a single fleeting moment, suggesting that life itself is formed from such moments. Time is personified by a woman shown in motion, her double‑angled face and the opposing movement of her hair and scarf evoking multi‑exposure imagery.
The zeros signify both beginning and end, and hint at infinity and eternal cycles, echoing the Ouroboros.… The clock with twelve radiating lines evokes the symbolic weight of the number twelve — hours, months, zodiac signs and ancient traditions.
The phases of the moon appear within her hair, shown in reverse from waning to full, with a trace of the new moon. The work also alludes to Janus, the Roman god who looked simultaneously to past and future and was honoured with twelve altars — the deity of beginnings, endings and Time.
