“Phantasm… Watching Me; Watching You” 30H X 40W acrylic and oil.
An exercise in illusion, perspective, observation and reciprocal observation.
We view art. What happens when art reciprocates and watches back? To answer, how about an artist creation without a mirror as a prop.
Quest: find a reflective paint with faint reflectivity.
A treat piece for any viewer with vision acuity @ 20/ (damaged retina) 30 plus …. Like me. Sixth pic… shows a likeness of the right eye vision acuity.
Work in progress posts received many remarks about the vibrant color palette. Secondarily, detail in the piece was a another area of feedback. On a tertiary level some art lovers commented on the positioning on contrasting objects, shapes and depth perception. Art lives when it is seen; when art looks back, even in blurred acuity, the art takes on a life.

Exciting US painter Andy Hollimon has never taken an art class in his life. It was after military service and a business career, that Hollimon discovered his natural gift for painting. Working mainly with oil paints, Hollimon is a realist painter, but admits to approaching realism with 'on canvas twists'. Such twists include surprising color schemes, moments of abstraction, and perspective shifts. Hollimon's paintings are luminous, mysterious, and joyful. Full of revelations, they invoke delight and invite contemplation.
