About this artwork
This installation of nine plastic cubes bears the marks of time – through the textured surface and color changes, I wanted to make transience and memory tangible. Each cube represents moments we capture, but which fade with time. The work brings a calm, contemplative energy to the room and invites us to pause and perceive the beauty of transience.

Annette Becker is an established German sculptor, painter and photographer whose works have widely featured in exhibitions and publications across the country. In her work, she deals with feelings such as closeness and vulnerability, as well as general interpersonal relationships. Her sculptures serve to capture the unconscious, and she often uses text and mirrored images to destable the viewer and encourage contemplation. Becker's preferred material is wax, for she views it as the perfect means and message of protection.
