About this artwork
In this work I let the gesture free itself, like a deep breath that passes through the soul and dissolves into the air.
Blue and green meet like two energies that harmonize: one that invites inner silence, the other that opens spaces of breathing and lightness.
I created it at a time when I felt the need to slow down, to stop and listen. Each brush stroke, each glaze, was born from a state of deep, almost meditative concentration. I wasn't looking… for a precise shape, but a vibration: the sensation of being immersed in something bigger, like the flow of water or the calm rhythm of the wind.
Angela Cortese is an Italian artist who develops a contemporary abstract style characterized by broad pictorial spaces, gestural marks, and intense color contrasts. Her works emerge from layers of color, gesture, and texture that create immersive and dynamic compositions.
Within these spaces, small figurative elements sometimes emerge, fragments of reality that emerge from the landscape of the unconscious and dialogue with the abstract dimension of the work.
The creative process often originates from a memory or an internal perception, which becomes a threshold for exploring emotions, memory, and vital energy.
His research is based on the concept of Psychosynthetic Art, inspired by the thought of Roberto Assagioli, in which color, gesture, and memory become tools for exploring inner experience.
