About this artwork
Prospettive is a work born from the need to take a step back, to observe reality from new angles to find balance. Sometimes, in the chaotic flow of life, stopping becomes necessary to re-center oneself. The painting represents this internal process: a space for reflection in which shapes and colors alternate between order and disorder, suggesting a silent movement towards greater awareness. Each overlap is a stratification of thoughts, each pause… a breath. Prospettive is an invitation to see beyond appearances, to seek a new point of observation to better understand oneself and the world.
Angela Cortese is an Italian artist who develops a contemporary abstract style characterized by broad pictorial spaces, gestural marks, and intense color contrasts. Her works emerge from layers of color, gesture, and texture that create immersive and dynamic compositions.
Within these spaces, small figurative elements sometimes emerge, fragments of reality that emerge from the landscape of the unconscious and dialogue with the abstract dimension of the work.
The creative process often originates from a memory or an internal perception, which becomes a threshold for exploring emotions, memory, and vital energy.
His research is based on the concept of Psychosynthetic Art, inspired by the thought of Roberto Assagioli, in which color, gesture, and memory become tools for exploring inner experience.
