About this artwork
In this painting I captured the carefreeness and joy of childhood. Two children, hand in hand, explore the sea and play on the beach. I used oil paints to highlight the vibrancy of the water and the softness of the sand, in the style of impressionism with a touch of realism. This artwork is intended to convey the freedom and simple happiness we often experience in our youth.

Angela Schubert, born in Hamburg in 1973, is a graphic designer and technical illustrator. Her artistic training began with life drawing with Detlef Allenberg (1989–1992) and continued at the Blankenese Art School (1992–1993) and the Institute for Contact Studies (1994/1995). Between 2010 and 2014 she deepened her painting with Felix Eckardt. An important developmental step was the master class with Rosa Loy in 2016. Schubert has shown her work in several solo and group exhibitions, including "Hamburg und Me(e)hr" (2017, Levantehaus) and "Grosse Freiheit" on the Cap San Diego (2018). She is known for her unique combination of representational and abstract elements. With modern impressionism and illustrative skills, she captures the complexity of reality and impressively conveys moments of life that combine light, color, architecture, water and humanity.
