About this artwork
The most important topic for Kienberger is people - the relationship between people and the world. In her work “Balance”, too, she deals with this circle of thoughts, here in the idea of people and the world in balance. The sculpture is the three-dimensional, female counterpart to Leonardo da Vinci's man in the square. and exploring the boundaries of the world, Kienberger's work follows a different, more feminine strategy: in returning to the center, in perfect harmony with the world, it embodies “balance” par excellence. The bipolar harmony of the two halves of the world - figure creates the most stable and dynamic form that we can imagine: the perfect sphere. In its wholeness, the figure stands for sustainability, respect and responsibility.
