About this artwork
This large scale painting was created to capture the feeling of light returning after darkness and with it the dawn of hope. Layers of expressive colour, energy and texture draw the viewer towards the glowing centre of the composition, where the forest seems to open into warmth, optimism and stillness.
Built through countless hand painted marks and pointillist details, the artwork shifts constantly with distance. From afar it feels immersive and… atmospheric, while up close the surface becomes alive with movement, rhythm and colour. Rich golds, luminous greens and flashes of violet create a sense of light radiating through the trees like a remembered place or fleeting moment of peace.
Created in acrylic and oil on canvas, Hope’s Dawn balances expressive freedom with fine detail, giving the painting both emotional depth and presence. At 200 x 120 cm, it is designed to completely transform a space, bringing warmth, energy and a calm sense of wonder into a room.
