About this artwork
‘Adjustment Architecture’ collapses the temporal and spatial distances between Brutalism old and new, far and wide, into the simultaneous space of the collage. Centred around New York City’s magnificent Met Breuer, the print fuses layers of architectural photography, geometric pattern, and abstract swathes of pigment for a beautiful homage to the twentieth century’s concrete dreams.

« My practice relies heavily on being loose and intuitive; working on several pieces at a time helps to prevent the work from becoming contrived. »
Angus Vasili is a British artist and printmaker who is interested in the artistic process of pairing abstract forms with modern and contemporary architectural structures. Silkscreen printing is a key component in Vasili’s works, with the artist enjoying the unintended and exciting ‘accidents’ that can emerge from this analogue process. In his additional layering of photography and hand-finished textures in acrylics and oil pastels, Vasili’s compositions become experimental and intricate, striking a delicate balance between abstract and concrete forms.
