About this artwork
The artist combines ideas from her series 'parallel realities' with the series 'La vie est abstraite'. She worked with acrylic paint on cardboard with a used, vintage aspect.
You can observe a bird, a red robin sitting on splashes of black paint. He is looking at an origami bird that is hanging on the same splash, held by a tread. What is he 'thinking'...? Is he in front of his alter ego...?

« My paintings have a strong autobiographical component. I like to portray experiences and feelings with delicate brushstrokes and calm colors. »
Anja Spagl is an artist based in France who has exhibited her works nationally, as well as in Germany. Being a proud vegetarian and animal lover, she often portrays animals and explores the human-animal relation in her compositions. Occasionally, Spagl's pieces also contain subtle critiques towards today's society. She paints using acrylics and oils on canvas. Originally a way of escaping reality, art is now her full-time occupation.
