About this artwork
This artwork is the first of the series "Icarus". I started to paint this series to express my concern about our planet, our environment. About the oceans which are polluted and also about the disappearance of the rainforest. It's all about our humans trying to control everything like Icarus who wanted to reach the sun.

Ank Draijer, a painter based in Costa Rica, has exhibited her works nationally, as well as in Uruguay, France, Colombia, and the United States.
