About this artwork
Acrylic on paper made in Ca l'Oliver, near Barcelona. Paper is made by hand and with the same procedures of the typical artisan elaboration of this area. Slow preparation of the paper mass, manual pressing and drying in a stream of air in the upper part of the Ca l'Oliver factory. This material is the starting point on which Anke works. On this material he paints with acrylic and sometimes ink. Always monochrome. This is accentuated by the minimalism…
that characterizes Anke's work. The result is mono-colored pieces with certain symmetries coexisting with an 'old' paper, of great weight with a lot of texture and irregular.

Anke Blaue is an artist based in Germany whose works have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally, as well as in Spain, Italy, and Belgium. For her, painting orginates from her esssence and is an expression of her inner world. In her artistic practice, Blaue allows herself to be an instrument, "so that what the moment asks can be expressed". Her bold abstract compositions are most often created with acrylics.
