This picture is painted plein air, i.e. directly on site, in the port of Hamburg. On a foggy November day. This special lighting mood of the foggy Hamburg harbor. The cranes in the background are slightly covered in fog.

Anke Gruss is an up and coming artist from Germany who has exhibited her work internationally. Her paintings draw inspiration from many from different fields, such as digital animation, urbanism, and landscape. In suit, her oeuvre encompasses a diverse range of styles and subject matter. She currently works as a lecturer in painting and museum pedagogue alongside her artistic practice.
