About this artwork
You will feel as if you are one of the fish swimming in this scene. The complementary vibrations of pinks of the sponges against the sage tone of the water, gives a scintillating combination. The beams of light piercing through the top gives the impression that the water is rippling with movement. The sponges which live on the seabed, are embroidered in high detail, you can see each individual spore hole! The fish are dynamic and alive with shimmering…
gold,silver or red leaf which has been applied and contrasts well with the harmonious background. This piece is in paer which is then stretched onto canvas. When completely flattened and dried, the whole painting is sprayed with mat archival varnish, which gives invisible protection against the UVA light, dust and dirt.
