About this artwork
This piece was created specially for an exhibition in Venice last year entitled "Yellow" and as the artist is passionate about trees and renders them superbly with her unique technique of embroidery on her own water colours, you can imagine that this attracted much attention. the pine leaves are very real life and you have the impression that they come out of the scene. The colours sing in harmony together with the play of warm hues of rose, bronze,…
yellow in contrast to the cool shades of blue, violet and blue-grey. The ethereal wet into wet sky is swirling in movement and the trees capture a compelling autumnal mood. The shadows on the ground also bring out interesting detail and texture too.
The actual size of the embroidered water colour is 30x24cm and sits in hand painted ivory mount which is also partly painted to continue the view. It has the appearance of looking through a window and the two combinations enhances the embroidered parts even more . It is framed in hard wood.
