About this artwork
Meeting, 2012.
Rough wood, wire and objects.
Created for the group exhibition "Encounters".
"All the lonely people" is a haunting artwork that reflects modern isolation through technology. Created on canvas with acrylic and hardware, it highlights the paradox of constant connectivity and accessibility through mobile devices while simultaneously losing true interpersonal connection. We look at our fellow human beings through the filter of technology,… but still remain lonely. It calls for breaking through these filters and seeking real encounters.

« I like working with paper. I love its texture, the way it reacts to water, how it ripples and tears. It is stubborn, obstinate and develops its own character. »
Eckert is a dedicated German painter who began drawing when she was a child, taking a pencil to the walls of her nursery to create fairytale scenes. Using a figurative style to represent the human form, she produces eye-catching, strong paintings with an evident excitement for artistic expression.
