About this artwork
The expressive paper object was specially created for the UNESCO World Book Day and consists of reused book pages that were part of an installation entitled "In the beginning was the word" for the opening of a local library in 2019.
A beautiful example of how art and literature can merge. Layer upon layer, the papers combine to create a complex and creative three-dimensional design. Each page carries a message that encourages the viewer to reflect… on the subject of reading. The neutral coloring of the object supports the profound message without distracting from the essential. The slight shading and texture of the paper creates the impression of depth and complexity, adding subtle beauty to the artwork.

Eckert is a dedicated German painter who began drawing when she was a child, taking a pencil to the walls of her nursery to create fairytale scenes. Using a figurative style to represent the human form, she produces eye-catching, strong paintings with an evident excitement for artistic expression.
