About this artwork
Our rich cultural heritage is both an inspiration and a burden for us. My collection deals on the one hand with the corset that cultural heritage imposes on us, but on the other hand with the inspiration and the possibilities that we can always draw from what already exists. To what extent is anything new even possible in this context?
This series was created for the joint exhibition "Culture as Heritage", 2022. Some of the basis was painting underlays… from the studio as well as earlier, revised works, which serve the end result in a special way with their random paint applications, cracks and distortions.

Eckert is a dedicated German painter who began drawing when she was a child, taking a pencil to the walls of her nursery to create fairytale scenes. Using a figurative style to represent the human form, she produces eye-catching, strong paintings with an evident excitement for artistic expression.
