About this artwork
I gained my inspiration by looking at the horizon at night. I saw reflections of lights from windows and lamps that brought echo of hope and happiness in a dark night. I thought about life and looking at things that are around us. Changing perspective to look at an apparently negative situation in a different way, we can imagine a more positive story, one that's more likely to lead to happiness.

Irish painter Anna Hryniewicz remembers painting from an early age, and was deeply influenced by her father, who told her to paint how she felt about the natural world rather than how she saw it. Today, Hryniewicz is still inspired by her father's stories about the forests, oceans, clouds, and planets. Hryniewicz always works in silence, often reading a line of poetry before she begins. Her acrylic on canvas works showcase abstract landscapes in lustrous colors.
